With 7 elegantly appointed bedrooms and 6 well-appointed bathrooms, The White House can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests. Each bedroom has its own unique charm, including smart televisions in every room (except for bedroom #7). The large, sunlit gourmet chef’s kitchen is a dream come true for foodies, with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances including a large refrigerator, freezer, oven, 6-burner gas range, and microwave. The kitchen also features a Nespresso coffee machine and a standard drip coffee maker, as well as pots, pans, serving dishes, mugs, glasses, and dishes for 14 people to enjoy meals together. At The White House, we strive to provide guests with everything they need for a memorable stay. We supply all towels and linens, a variety of tea and cooking basics, and toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Liquid soap is provided at all sinks, but we ask that you bring your preferred toiletries. A house hairdryer is available for use. In addition to its luxurious amenities, The White House offers several unique features to enhance your stay. The light and airy Great Room boasts an oversized stone fireplace as its centerpiece, vaulted ceilings, radiant marble floors, and large windows. Take in breathtaking views of the Sheepscot River and downtown Wiscasset on the veranda, or relax in the private outdoor pool. The estate also includes a charming tea house with a fireplace and wifi, a mooring ball, walking trails across the 43-acre estate, and a walkable railroad track that runs right into town (use at your own risk). Please note that when the property is not rented, it is used as a private residence for the owner and their family. To respect their privacy, the barn, pantry, and master suite closet will be locked and inaccessible to guests. Hosts do not live on site and guests will have contactless check-in. We are happy and available to help you choose the best places to visit during your stay including giving you information on local tourist attractions, great walks (you have direct access to the railroad path into town, the many historical sites nearby and information on nearby popular location, Boothbay Harbor. There are a number of award-winning pubs and restaurants all within easy reach of the house. A guidebook with house and local information is available at the house for guests to use. Local shops and restaurants in Wiscasset are just 5 minutes away by car. Head down the road to the world famous, as seen on The Food Network, Red’s Eats, for the best lobster roll in Maine. Boothbay Harbor is 20 minutes by car. Getting into town is fastest by car. There is a beautiful railroad walk down the hill that takes you along the bay right into town.
